Description
On the Island of Elba, the Wine Tradition has millennial origins: Pliny the Elder called it "The Island of Good Wine". Moreover, wine amphorae from Roman times, found in wrecks lying on the Elban seabed, chronicle the entire history of ancient navigation.
In more recent times, in the 18th century, Napoleon also left significant footprints; in addition to reorganizing the mining activity, he greatly increased the production and export of wine.
Fattoria delle Ripalte, with its new Rosso delle Ripalte, follows the Elban winemaking tradition while trying to bring in innovative elements. The main grape variety of this wine, the Grenache, common throughout the Mediterranean basin and also called alicante, cannonau and garnacha, adapts perfectly to the arid and dry climate of the Island.
The results are extraordinary, and would hardly have been obtained with other grape varieties, more suited to the difficult nature of these places.

Features and tasting:
Appearance: deep and vibrant ruby color.
On the nose: delicate, complex with hints of raspberry, currant, ripe cherry and spicy notes.
On the palate: full bodied and well-structured in the mouth, fruity and floral, minerality and freshness, a soft and velvety tannic expression. A wine of great character, harmonious, with a surprisingly elegant finish.
It is recommended to be served fresh from the cellar at 14/15° C. In addition to classic pairings with traditional meat dishes, Rosso delle Ripalte finds an ideal link in Tuscan seafood dishes with tomato, especially with cacciucco and Livorno-style codfish.
